Helping to change the world better
D.M. College of Education, Moga has been rendering a unique service to the society by imparting Teacher's Training to the students since 1953. The whole credit of this venture goes to Late Rai Bahadur Dr. Mathra Dass Pahwa - a Well known Arya Samajist, a Gold Medalist, eminent Eye-Surgeon and most revered personality of Moga. This great and glorious man of Arya Samaj was honoured with numerous titles and epithets such as Padam Vibhushan, Kesar-i-Hind and many more titles at State and National Level.
The greatest honour, this luminary received was the spontaneous love, affection and over flowing reverence from the people of this region. Apart from our institute, a large number of educational and social welfare institutions are functioning successfully just because of the efforts and hard work put in by this great man. We cannot ignore the fact that not only our present generation but also succeeding generations will follow the foot prints of this great missionary person. He was magnificent in his faith and heroic in his efforts. He was also incarnation of courage, moral strength and humility Let all of us take a solemn pledge that we shall ever try to follow the path shown by this pious and honourable personality
The college is affiliated to the Panjab University Chandigarh and is approved by the NCTE for the degree of Bachelor of Education. During the tenure of 71 years, the institution has scaled the heights of success in academic, cultural and co-curricular activities at local and state level. The main highlights of the institute are its three D’s- Discipline, Dedication and Duty. It is spreading fragrance of knowledge all around with the co-operation of experienced, committed and competent faculty. The college is housed in its own spacious building situated in an open site facing the Kashmiri Park. It is a co-educational institution. It has separate practising schools of its own to provide Internship to the student teachers of both gender. The college provides very congenial and conducive atmosphere for student's growth and development. For girl students, there is an ultra modern Hostel in the campus with the capacity of 44 seats. Seats are allocated on first come-first served basis. The duration of the course for the Degree of Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) is two years i.e., four semesters.
